I'm a cross!

brigid
You are St Brigid's Cross: St. Brigid is an Irish
saint who hand-wove a cross, out of rushes she
found by the river. She made the cross while
explaining the passion of our Lord to a pagan
man.

  1. these straw ornaments are very popular in the Nordic countries at Christmas time especially.

thought you'd like to know that :)

  2. I like being a Christmas cross! Though I have to say it reminds me a bit of those talismans that showed up in The Blair Witch Project.

  5. Lorna,

Not sure why you thought I was Canadian, but oddly enough I was married to a Canadian at one time.

You don't want to see The Blair Witch Project, very creepy. It has the distinction of being a contemporary horror film with no gore and no violence. Mostly the directors played with the effect of atmosphere (a forest) and suggestion on the imagination(what is that scuffling in the bushes? what are these odd little twig figures in the trees? did you hear something? where are we? how do we get out?).

  6. Hey I'm getting better grin - not that there was anything wrong

but I went out for lunch today
    and
I'm planning to go and see the Jane Austen movie and Narnia movies as soon as they come out here.

Which isn't bad for someone who rarely goes out and studies and ministers too hard!!

but you're right I wouldn't like that Blair witch story. Sounds creepy. And creepy I can do without.

  7. I'm a St Brigid Cross as well. I like that it's made from simple materials, rather than fancy gold and jewels and stuff.

  8. I came out as that as well. I think my Celtic ancestors would be pleased.

  9. We aren't Irish, but hang those on our Christmas tree. I never knew their name until now.
