I'm back, sort of

Well, here I am. I'm too tired to explain the ins and outs of the past week, so I refer you to my husband's blog www.stilljewish.blogspot.com. Hardly any pain, but I feel like an octopus with drains pinned on my nightclothes. Not very pleasant. The operation did not go as planned, which is a big disappointment to me, but I've been saving up to cry after the abdominal incision has healed. Pathology shows no invasive cancer, so that is news to celebrate. I have to walk around a few times a day, and since I can't stand up straight yet, that is very tiring and about all I can handle. A kind coworker sent me a supply of Artemis Fowl books to read. Actually, friends, family and coworkers have showered us with kindness. I'm particularly blessed that so many folks have undertaken to entertain the girls. Dear Husband is in pain from his own illness, which saddens me. My MIL also has her own disease to contend with, and she's handling all the housework as well as picking up the girls and keeping them on track. I admit that few times I've done some things that I shouldn't just because I know everyone else is near exhaustion. It will be a while before I can drive again.

Well, that wasn't very coherent and didn't exactly flow, but that's the best I can come up with for now.

  3. Bad Alice, I haven't been around lately but you've been in my thoughts and prayers and those will continue. And what Songbird said. I know it's got to be a challenge but you have to take care of yourself.

  5. Look with pity, O heavenly Father, upon the people in this land who live with injustice, terror, disease, and death as their constant companions. Have mercy upon us. Help us to eliminate our cruelty to these our neighbors. Strengthen those who spend their lives establishing equal protection of the law and equal opportunities for all. And grant that every one of us may enjoy a fair portion of the riches of Jesus Christ our Lord.
