Quick Note

I wanted to peek my head out and say thank you to everyone who left comments on my Gloomy Depressed Post. Your kind words and prayers mean a lot to me. I’m busy busy busy at the moment. DramaQueen’s birthday party is this weekend—and there’s another birthday party the same day! I also have an editing project to work on at home in my “spare” time. My concentration has improved dramatically, but I don’t think there’s a pill to overcome the lethargy that overwhelms me when I look at a sink full of dishes or a dryer full of clothes. Sigh.

  1. Girl, I'm telling you, Flylady.net. You gotta check it out. Glad you're peeking back out. Missed you. Hang in there and just baby step your way back into order. You can do it.

  2. It's OK, though, cos that lethargy is part of the Universal Human Condition...or so I tell myself regularly. And only boring people get excited about housework...And all sorts of things like that.
Hang on in there. We're still praying...

  5. i'm more like a "let's just get through this minute, or this converstion or this day" kind of gal...and no, i wouldn't worry that there's no pill for the overwhelming exhaustion that hits when we look at housework...I take it as a sign of health! thanks for commenting on my last post...I somehow feel less lost knowing there are others out there, still in progress (& able to admit it)

  6. Well, I don't know about you, but I'm feeling better reading your comments. :-) Knowing that a sinkful of dishes makes most others feel lethargic is encouraging. I sure know that feeling. It does get better when I dive in and start chipping away at the mess, but knowing that doesn't make the starting any easier. I struggle with the same thing every single day, with some days being better than others. I think you, I, the rest of us, we're right where we're supposed to be.

I also think the whole mom thing is way more draining than we realize even on the best days.

  7. Man--we need to get the drug companies working on that housework pill. And agitate for it to be covered by all existing health care plans.

  9. Hey, Alice, when were you at Columbia? Forgive me if you've told me before or if I've missed a post. I wasn't in the writing program, but I did work with some of the people there. Feel free to send me an email, the address is in my sidebar, if you'd like.
